Ayla is a Case Manager at Mary’s Refuge, where she brings heart, humor, and healing to the women she supports. Before joining the team, Ayla ran her own private therapy practice, working with people from age 2 to 85—though she especially loved helping women in their 20s and 30s navigate life’s twists and turns.
She’s trained in cutting-edge approaches like infraslow neurofeedback, polyvagal theory, and somatic therapy, and she has a passion for helping people recover from trauma in a safe and supportive way.
Ayla’s own journey into motherhood with her son Wesley gave her a whole new level of compassion for moms and the challenges they face. That experience inspired her to shift from volunteering at Mary’s Refuge to joining full-time, where she now leads mental health groups, supports goal-setting, and walks alongside women as they work through healing and growth.
When she’s not at Mary’s Refuge, you can find her chasing around her toddler, geeking out over brain science, or sipping (reheated) coffee with a good book
