Our cornerstone campaign, Baby Steps is all about building donations around helping a young mother make intentional moves in the right direction. This fund helps women get access to parenting courses, mental health services, and employment necessities like work uniforms or clothing, proper footwear, and haircuts.

Mary’s Refuge is a 501(c) (3) ministry of St. Joseph Parish and the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston, West Virginia. We rely solely on private donations and all donations directly serve our mothers and their children. All donations are tax-deductible.
Mary’s Refuge is a sanctuary for young expectant mothers who need a hand up. Our community-building program provides a stable, safe place to live during pregnancy, access to resources for prenatal care and counseling, along with career and educational opportunities.
Our 100% Pro-Life Maternity home is a place where young soon-to-be mother’s facing fear and anxiety can find a supportive and nourishing environment to anchor themselves. Mary’s Refuge acts as a gateway to motherhood, where women receive emotional, physical and spiritual support as they navigate the challenges of pregnancy and motherhood.
