The Gift of Support
A society of hand-ups, not hand outs.
For every day in December leading up to Christmas, add one meaningful item to your Advent box. These small daily acts of kindness will build up to something extraordinary for someone in need.
By participating in the Reverse Advent Calendar, you’re giving more than items—you’re offering hope, stability, and support to someone facing life’s challenges. Every box delivered represents a step toward building a stronger safety-net for the Mothers at Mary’s Refuge.

Item Delivery
drop-off at any of the following churches:
St. Leo Catholic Church
Saint James The Greater Catholic Church
St. Agnes Catholic Church
St. Joseph Parish
Saint Bernadette Catholic Church

Drop off in the collection “pack n play” located in the church narthex labeled Mary’s Refuge Reverse Advent Calendar. All items will be collected on January 5th.
If you have items to drop off after January 5th, call 304-350-1632 or email house.manager@marysrefuge.com to schedule a time to drop off your advent collections.
Mary’s Refuge is a 501(c) (3) ministry of St. Joseph Parish and the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston, West Virginia. We rely solely on private donations and all donations directly serve our mothers and their children. All donations are tax-deductible.

Mary’s Refuge is a sanctuary for young expectant mothers who need a hand up. Our community-building program provides a stable, safe place to live during pregnancy, access to resources for prenatal care and counseling, along with career and educational opportunities.
Our 100% Pro-Life Maternity home is a place where young soon-to-be mother’s facing fear and anxiety can find a supportive and nourishing environment to anchor themselves. Mary’s Refuge acts as a gateway to motherhood, where women receive emotional, physical and spiritual support as they navigate the challenges of pregnancy and motherhood.
