Martinsburg, WV — [July 2, 2024] — Mary’s Refuge, a sanctuary dedicated to providing a safe, supportive, and nourishing environment for young mothers-to-be, is profoundly grateful for the overwhelming support received from our community partners. Their generous contributions are instrumental in helping us continue our mission of offering emotional, physical, and spiritual support to those in need.
Knights of Columbus at St. James the Greater, Mother Teresa Council held a Fish Fry event and graciously donated all proceeds to Mary’s Refuge, totaling an incredible $6,700. Their dedication and hard work have significantly impacted our ability to provide essential services to our residents.
St. Bernadette Social Concerns hosted a basket raffle, raising $700 for Mary’s Refuge. This wonderful initiative brought joy to the participants and provided much-needed funds to support our programs and services.
St. Leo Knights of Columbus and Ladies Auxiliary generously gifted our mothers with a gift card tree for Mother’s Day. This thoughtful gesture brought smiles and relief to many, allowing them to purchase necessities and treats for themselves and their children.
American Heritage Girls Troop WV0082 held a collection drive for items such as diapers, wipes, and clothing, and additionally donated $950 in gift cards. Their efforts have ensured that our mothers and babies have access to essential supplies, easing the challenges of daily life.
Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court Martinsburg #392 organized a Mother’s Day celebration for our residents, complete with refreshments and gifts. Their evening event was a lovely occasion filled with joy and generosity. They also collected a substantial number of donations, including diapers and cleaning supplies, greatly aiding our day-to-day operations.
St. Agnes of Shepherdstown conducted a diaper drive specifically for the children at Mary’s Refuge. Their efforts have ensured our youngest residents have the necessary supplies to stay clean, dry, and comfortable.
St. John University Parish in Morgantown, Knights of Columbus Chapter 8288, held a heartwarming baby bottle collection for Mary’s Refuge and generously donated $5,150.
